How does Gasology work?
Gasology connects buyers and sellers of fuel, providing sellers with an easy and automated way to share offers with customers, and providing buyers with a streamlined fuel shopping and purchasing tool. Let’s take a look at how it works.
There are two types of users on the platform – merchants and consumers.
Fuel merchants are businesses that produce and distribute motor fuel. They can be refineries where fuel is processed from crude oil, distributors managing the logistics of delivering fuel, or gas stations that provide fuel for retail consumers. Merchants sell fuel on Gasology. They may also buy from their suppliers.
Consumers only use Gasology to buy fuel. Business consumers are bulk purchasers of fuel such as trucking companies, municipalities, and fleet vehicle operators (like delivery companies). Retail consumers are individuals shopping for fuel for their personal vehicles.
Merchants and consumers use the Gasology platform to connect with each other to buy and sell fuel.
Merchants use the Gasology platform to design prices and share them with their customers. They choose which products they want to sell, where they want to sell from, and how they want to sell. Merchants may also decide who can see which offers – specific customers, any customer they are connected to, or anyone using Gasology, including customers they may not know yet.
Business consumers use Gasology to search for offers for their vessels – their private tanks or vehicles – meeting their search criteria. Once they decide they want to buy, both parties receive a transaction notification.
